About Rita Hestand

Hi friends

The next Bride of the West will be out soon, And I'll Stay Here, So be watching for it's release. It is a pre-order right now. This one will be a lot of fun, hope you check it out. An Unescorted Lady is out now and I hope you'll try it. The Car Stalker is one I am working on. It takes me longer to write thrillers, a lot of plotting goes into them and in order to tie all the ends up, you have to think carefully through them. I don't rush my books. Some come very easy to write, others not so easy.

Free books this month are two of my favorites: Twelfth of Never and The Witness.

To my fellow authors I'd say it does pay to watch what your sales are doing, who is buying what and what types of your books they seem to like. By doing this you can manage a backlist better and actually make more sales.

I'm hoping like all of you that Kobo begins to pay off. Wal-mart could be a good distributor but I have found it takes about six months to two years to see a real movement.

As for a bio, suffice it to say, I'm a Texan tried and true. I have grown children and grandchildren and already some great-grandchildren. I've done multi jobs in my lifetime giving me a variety of experiences to write and talk about. I've done many different kinds of work from Texas Instruments, to City of Garland, to working for the Wylie Independent School District. I've worked for a hat factory, filing insurance claims, secretarial work, to waitress work. My writing reflects my varied background. Another note I've had a in home day care for twenty years too. So when I write about something I have a general knowledge of it too, which is a real bonus for me. Just like my public work, my writing varies too from contemporary to historical, I write romance, thrillers, children's. A lot of people might say gee, that's a lot of different jobs, and it is, but, I've learned from them all, and I use that experience in my writing.

I want to thank all the readers over a length of time that have tried some of my books. I hope I've enlightened and entertained you. I hope I've shared some love in this world. Sharing love can't be bad, it's God given.

God bless.

One of the worst novels I've ever read. Plot was all over the place and it was so boring that I quit reading just 20 pages before the end. Can't believe I let it go that long! Only thing going for it was that it was, in smashword terms, "clean and wholesome." Yuck!
