And Then Something Cool Happened

Rated 3.67/5 based on 3 reviews
The line between comedy and tragedy is wide and blurry. These eight stories fit into that blurry space. Spanning from Victorian England to the year 2500, from horrific to hilarious, these tales cover cats, clowns, drugs, toast, bodily fluids, and even Santa Claus. And then something cool happened.

I won this book in exchange for an honest review. While the short stories are varied and pretty good they are just that. And I agree with the other review that the book gets progressively better with each story. I am glad I was able to read it.

I received a copy of this book from a LibraryThing giveaway in exchange for a for an honest review.

This book is a collection of short stories, mostly unrelated besides some strange aspect in each, sometimes fantastical and other times just humourous.

Overall I found them enjoyable, though I considered some of the stories good and not great. The earlier ones tended to have an overload of detail that really took away from getting into the reading, most notably in the set-up of the background for 'The Last Time I Did Acid'.
However, the stories seem to improve as you move through the collection and I found the final story to be my absolute favourite and one of the best-written, definitely a solid end to this book.

This collection of short stories shows a subtle humor that is not for every one. I absolutely love them. I would like to see one of the world of one of the stories, Bailey, expanded further.
