Charlotte Hains left the UK for France after deciding she needed a change, taking on the huge project of renovating a house. In the UK her life consisted of getting up, going to work, coming home, going to bed, and just surviving. She now enjoys French life within the community of the village in which she lives, and feels privileged to be part of it. She describes her French neighbours as fantastic, offering her help in every way they can, and says she might have given up long ago if they hadn’t been so understanding.
With her house nearly finished she found herself with long nights and lots of thumb twiddling, reading anything she could get on her iPad. In honesty, she admits it was here that 'Fifty Shades of Grey' caught her eye. Unbeknownst to her, her sister was reading it as well. Her sister thought that, because Charlotte has such a creative side, maybe she’d be able to write a book too. As a joke, Charlotte emailed her sister her stories, also written on her iPad. She researched blogs and BDSM sites on the internet, and so 'Introducing Charlotte' came alive. Before she knew it, Charlotte had over 150,000 words which she’d sent by email in instalments to her sister, and there was more than enough for a book…or maybe even two!

This book is eloquently written, the story line is engaging, and is perfectly described (in my interview) by the author herself- PROVOCATIVE, SUGGESTIVE AND SEDUCTIVE.
After being stuck in the YA world for some time, Introducing Charlotte X was a breath of fresh air and a perfect transition for someone who has never read erotica. To be quite honest, when I heard EROTICA I thought I would be reading "Word Porn" and I would like to thank Miss Hains for not only educating me about the genre as a whole but also about the BDSM lifestyle.
I loved the camaraderie among friends. Anthony, Nats and Lloyd effortless gave of themselves to help Charlotte return to her former glory, even though they knew it would be hard work. Lloyd...Lloyd...Lloyd... he is my new book boyfriend and his part in Charlotte's story was actually a pleasant surprise. My only complaint is the ending... I was a mess last night because of that insane cliffhanger. I was left just like Charlotte-achingly unsatisfied and wanting MORE! This is the perfect foreplay for Controlling Charlotte.

This has been, by far, the absolute most perfect book written for me.
Synopsis: Introducing Charlotte is a story about a battered woman and her reconnection with an old friend who helps her regain her former self. But better and stronger. Charlotte has a tough journey from battered woman to woman of power. With the most unlikely journey Charlotte finds a new world of vulnerability, possibly one she can actually enjoy. Can she find the power in being submissive?
Review: I am left an empty shell right now after finishing this book. I felt waves of emotions from sadness to excitement. I did not get bored. Not for a second. I could reread this story 100 times and soak up something new every, single, time.
I enjoyed Charlotte. I freaking loved how the story started off mid-crisis all lost and confused. I felt completely bewildered by Charlotte and could not decide whether to love or hate her. With each new character, oh my, I could barely contain myself. What is their secret? Who is a part of all this and how are all these characters weirdly connected?
Anthony, I will forever love you. Almost as much a Lloyd. As much as book boyfriends go, well this book gave me two in one (shame on me! My promiscuity). But seriously, Nats.. I didn't forget you and you are my first (eek!) book girlfriend. The things this book has done to my heart. I never knew I could fall in love so many times, all at once.
The only thing that concerned me about this book is a few minor editing flaws that may just be cultural disconnection.
Back to what I loved. My favorite part? The ending. My least favorite part? The ending! Oh Ms. Hains, how could you do this to me? I won't discuss the ending so I'll pick another favorite part. The moment Charlotte got that job. I knew some amazing things were going to happen. Charlotte is such a great character and I kind of wish she were real, and my best friend.
I'm absolutely heartbroken that I don't have a physical copy of this book. This book was written for me. I'm terrified that no other book will fill my heart this way again! (I'm sure I can find room to love more, I need time to grieve the ending of this book). Secondly, the nail in my coffin is the fact that I don't have the next book to start right away. I need more, right now!
If you have been disappointed in 50 Shades for the excessive negative emotions (like me -check out my reviews for those too), I'm telling you this book has everything that series lacks and is perfect for a sexy read!
I think it's obvious why I have given this book a rating of 5/5⭐ or should I say 💗💞💖💜💕?
I recommend this book to romance lovers, erotic lovers and new adult fans! I would say every woman out there but there is mature content in the book.
Dear Charlotte Hains,
Please come out with the next book before my heart dries up and dies.
XOXO Amanda Nicole
