Dr. Wood serves as an Assistant Professor at Duquesne University where he teaches a variety of MBA, Masters of Information Systems, and undergraduate courses. Dr. Wood has developed a particular expertise in two areas – the area of electronic markets and the area of systems and Web application development – which he developed through a wide-range of research projects, grants and industry partnerships, and through his extensive experience prior to entering academia, where he spent 11 years consulting in Web development, database development, and Windows application development with many organizations, including 3M and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). He has a strong research record with 16 published articles in major journals (including Management Science, The Journal of Marketing, Decision Support Systems, Communication of the ACM, and others). He has conducted over 25 presentations at major conferences in the last twelve years, and has won many best paper awards, including recently at the American Marketing Association 2010 Summer Marketing Educator's Conference (best in track, Marketing Strategy & Management Track) and at the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (best in track, Marketing Track). In addition, Dr. Wood has published books dealing with Web computer programming, database development, and Windows computer programming, and has made contributions to seven other books that cover similar topics. Dr. Wood holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.B.A. from the Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Computer Science.
