Very interesting read. I loved Ubvi's sassy behaviour. She was strong headed and determined. She didn't fear keep her from her goals. I also loved the chemistry between her and Nagudia. If you love sizzling romance with a strong female lead, this is a book for you

This book is a true reflection of history, a well-depicted romance story rich in culture. In her many travails, Uvbi shone through as an African woman - full of boldness, strength, courage and fear. Despite the prevailing dictatorial rule, she clamoured for the freedom of women to participate and take up trade. And Nagudia’s bravery and total commitment to follow his heart and work to protect what he believes in was believable and convincing.

Royal Cowries exposes so many vices, including forcing young women into early marriages. Through sheer bravery, Uvbi brought unprecedented changes in the culture of the land. She wrote her name in history as far as I am concerned. And Nagudia was an awesome hero. I strongly recommend this book to all who seek true and sincere romance in life.

The story is amazingly rich in culture. Nagudia stole my head
I seem to fall in love with most of Stella's male protagonist
I read the story with my heart in my mouth, praying Nagudia and Uvbi end up together peacefully. Beautiful historical romance.

A Brilliantly Written Romance Story

This saga takes place during the late 1400s in Igodomigodo, an ancient city in Nigeria where men rule and women are beholden to the statutes of the land, a time where tradition, religion, combat, loyalty, principles, romance, love, and passion define a nation. But when Uvbi, a true feminist, is ordered by her authoritarian father to marry a ruthless warrior, she disobeys his demands and flees. When she crosses paths with Nagudia, a humble craftsman and warrior, it sets the backdrop for absorbing characters with outer and inner conflicts, secrets, greed, jealousy, hate, sibling rivalry, and scandal. The plot is packed with cliff-hanging scenarios. When a mutual attraction between Uvbi and Nagudia begins to grow, the story takes a surprising turn, with an ending that will leave you reeling. This story is relevant today with the mounting expectations and changing roles of women in a world that is still dominated by men. The author provides the reader with a different view of Africa, which is rarely seen in American historical writing. Congratulations on a thoroughly researched narrative.
