Dear Samuel Simiyu,

In the providence of God I found the site called . Your book The Imperfect Perfectionist was on the first page I came to. Noticing the author was from Kenya, it immediately grabbed my attention; I grew up in DRCongo until age 15. Part of my heart is still there in Africa!

I downloaded & read your book with interest. Praise God for your apparent faith in Him & for your diligent search for TRUTH. I pray you will successfully complete your medical school later this year and God will enable you to follow through with an effective, rewarding future in this field of Medicine there in Africa! There is such tremendous need.....

Your book seems to be a compilation of material - journal entries? - you had written over the years. It was interesting to watch your personal growth“in wisdom & stature & in favor with God and man” as the years progressed (1 Samuel 2:26 & Luke 2:52) .

You sometimes record that you played “devil’s advocate” to draw out another person’s arguments for the truth they believed, as well as to promote in yourself and others a critical analysis and evaluation of the basis upon which you believe what you do. (I had a mentor during my highschool/university days who often did that to challenge me to deeper understanding & insight. I owe much to him!) The broad spectrum of your interests indicate further your desire to be well educated in many fields as well as to use the bright mind God has given you to best advantage! I truly like to see that in a person!

Some of your remarks & apparent conclusions you came to over the course of the book indicated to me that you might appreciate the writing and teaching of Dr R C Sproul and his associates at Dr Sproul is a well known Christian Theologian whose worldwide daily broadcast can be heard at However, there are many other facets to Ligonier Ministries which you will see if you visit their site. There one can find explanations that are solidly Biblical and a worldview in which the teachers are not only well grounded in the Word of God, but have also integrated that knowledge with a healthy education in World History, Philosophy, Logic, etc. As far as possible, they try to use well documented historical facts & verifiable scientific knowledge, as well as the Word of God as the basis for deciding what can be known to be TRUE.

You may not agree with everything you hear from Ligonier Ministries. But even many who do not agree, cannot help but admire the intellectual quality and depth of spiritual insight in what is presented there. I think that someone such as yourself would find great joy in exploring what is available from this resource.

May you continually find your greatest joy in knowing, loving, & serving Him who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life.!

The God of the Universe has invited us “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD” (Isaiah 1:18). And He has given men minds with a capacity to reason & senses to examine His creation for facts with which to reason. He has provided the written Word to explain things about Himself and His purposes which cannot be learned from the creation itself because of the Fall. And God is glorified when we choose to study His creation and His Word, and reason with the Truth we learn in a way that draws others to know, love, & serve Him.
