Ransom X

Rated 4.89/5 based on 18 reviews
Martin Legacy was a top field interrogator before his life was shattered by a random crime. He withdrew to a basement post in the FBI, developing a mythic reputation as a brilliant malcontent. An agent brings him an active case. An abduction ring is preying on women, using them in adult films, ransomed for the price of pornography. They just took the daughter of an old friend, the head of the FBI.

Excellent storyline. Kept you intrigued right from the very first chapter. Agent Legacy is quite some person once the reader gets to know him and how secretive and protective he is of his family and friends. Can't wait for the next Agent Legacy novel. Thanks I.B.

Excellent but disturbing plot. The main character is eccentric but interesting. I class this as a girly type of story; the action scenes are unrealistic. Example: lead bullets do not cause gas tanks to explode. There are several others. It also needs a good editing. It deserves a 3.5.

I really liked this book, The premise was great and you always wanted to find out what happens next, it was really suspensfull, However I think he needs to give it to an editor because I often had to re-read a sentance to figure out what the author was getting at, as a word was missing or such. This book was free on smashwords.com and I recomend everyone read it

An excellent book! Different than most others with a mix of Agent Moulder from X-Files to Spec Ops thrillers. Agent Legacy (FBI) is a different kind of thinker. So different that he is seen as dangerous and strange, yet so effective he has to kept around. Another of the many "Reluctant Hero" types I like so much. I'd call him a loaner, but he has a daughter, Chess, that is the most important thing in his life. He is a social misfit though.
The subject matter of the story is a bit disturbing and "adult" as it centers around an illegal porn ring, but it has little that would be called graphic, but you know what is going on and the psychology of it is made apparent by the author. The clock is ticking when the next unwilling actress appearing on the live web show is the Director's kidnapped daughter. The pace is fast and furious. Loved it and hope the author releases another in the Legacy series soon!
