About Bernadette Rowley

Bernadette Rowley is a lover of epic fantasy who is a veterinarian by day and an author by night. She is currently published in the genre of fantasy/paranormal romance and has six books published, all set in her fantasy world of Thorius.
When she was a young teenager, an aunt gave her a copy of The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks and Bernadette has lived in various fantasy worlds ever since. So it’s no surprise that her chosen genre when writing romance is fantasy.
“I can see these settings so vibrantly in my mind and hope my readers can too.”
But Bernadette has no desire to spoon-feed her readers by laboriously describing her fantasy settings. She would rather the reader use their own imagination a little.
Along with sword and sorcery, dashing heroes and stunning heroines, this author includes strong healing themes in many of her books- an element which is central to her everyday job.
“When I started writing this series, I never imagined my day job would force its way into my stories as it has.”
And of course there are animals, especially Bernadette’s beloved horses, as well.
Bernadette lives in Brisbane, Australia, with the four heroes in her life- her husband Michael and three grown sons.

About the Series: Brightcastle Saga
The Brightcastle Saga begins with Princess Avenger, the story of a princess who will stop at nothing to save her people. But Alecia becomes a pawn in her father's plan to win the kingship. She falls in love with Captain Vard Anton, the man who is given the task of guarding her. Too late, Alecia discovers Vard's dangerous secret but her heart is given and she flees with him rather than face her betrothed. Princess in Exile continues Vard and Alecia's troubled love affair. Vard searches for a mentor to help him understand his 'gift' while Alecia struggles to come to terms with his animal alter-ego. What follows will test their love to the limits. The Brightcastle Saga will conclude with The Queen Returns.

Princess Avenger is the first novel in a series I am definitely going to be reading more of. Having never read fantasy, I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm hooked! I loved the heroine, feisty but out of her depth and the hero, a shapeshifter who was dashing and dangerous- someone I would definitely want to run into in a dark alley!I can't wait for the next installment!

Princess Avenger written by Bernadette Rowley.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. It's not too often I come across a romantic action novel that engages my imagination when I'm not reading it ! I love a good read that captivates my thoughts during daily routine, making me question the up and coming story line of the characters, delving in to the 'what ifs'. The book does not disappoint. It is captivating, exciting and full of great fantasy drama.
I would highly recommend this novel and am looking forward to continuing the adventure with the sequel 'Princess in Exile'.
