About Eric Samson

Eric lives in Ottawa, Canada.

When he's not stuck in an office or doing awesome family man stuff with his two favourite girls, he's busy lifting weights in his basement or training in martial arts. He also enjoys good whiskey and tobacco, and wishes he had more money for extra tattoos and trips with his family.

When he's not doing all of these things, he likes to write dark and violent stuff.

Kill the King by Eric Samson is exactly what you want out of a crime thriller: violence, drugs, and a main character with impossible odds. From the start it is clear that Tyler is far from a virtuous man, but neither is he a man without virtue.

Eric has a good mind for crime, one that he uses to develop the underground world of organized crime where Tyler ventures into. But there's more than that. Tyler is someone you can root for, a criminal with a hard past but a criminal who still holds onto morals.

And it's that flaw in his character that makes the book so thrilling. An ordinary criminal with no ethics would have made this narrative dull because all Tyler has to do for freedom is shoot a guy, but Kill the King is more complex and thrilling than that.

Kill the King by Eric Samson was an entertaining read with surprising twists and turns. It is not overly descriptive, focusing on the action packed storyline. Once started, I was unable to put it down. I am definitely looking forward to read his next books.

I loved Kill the King. Initially, I was a little hesitant about reading this book because I don't usually care for dark or violent stories. I'm really glad I gave it a chance! Though violent, the book was tastefully written and I didn't feel that the darker aspects of the story were out of place or excessive. Hopefully, this is the first book of a series of many...I want to find out what happens next!

A dark, fast-paced story with an abundance of violence and numerous twists and turns. Well worth a read, the synopsis on Smashwords doesn't really do it justice. Four stars, hoping that the next one is even better…
