After my children were grown, I finally went to college and majored in creative writing. I use my life experience to weave the stories I've always wanted to tell and to make my characters ring true.
My books hold the lives of characters I believe in--people who exist somewhere outside my mind in another world. I don't need to write fantasy when so much around us is undiscovered. People get blind-sided by alarming truths every day and everyone, if they've lived very long at all, knows someone who has gone through a tragedy and rose up out of it stronger and more determined.
These are the people I write about. And you won't be able to guess everything that's going to happen. We can't do it in life. Why should we be able to do it in the books we read? My life has had a little bit of everything--romance, mystery, valleys and mountain-top experiences. My books have those things too.
Writing is a lot like balancing on a tight-rope. Lean away from your center and you fall. Because I know who I am, I can lock onto a foundation that I believe gives me insight into the how's and why's of people's lives.
I do not desire to write books that titillate but I do believe in romance. I also love the idea of mysteries unfolding as secrets are exposed.
My books do not contain cursing either but to maintain a truer sounding account of some conversations, I will resort to putting a blank just to show a curse word was used by the character. Those blanks can be brushed over and the reader gets the idea.
It's important to me to leave a legacy of books behind that I would be proud for my children and family to read.
I'd love to give you a free sample of my writing here on Smashwords. I offer "Threads of Regret," as a free download. It's approximately 60 pages long and is the prequel to "Lovely Strings," a 400 page novel that contains mystery, romance and the story of seven women stranded in a cabin in the Appalachian woods.
I'd love to welcome you to my website too which contains free chapters of my novels, a blog I keep and a contact page where you can leave a comment.

What a delightful little read. Three lovely short stories to enjoy any day you have an hour to spare. The first story was especially poignant this day of January (20th) when we celebrate life! Regina, keep 'em comin'!
