About Marcie Murray

About the Author
Marcie Murray currently makes her home in the rugged Oregon Coast Range mountains west of Portland where the people, animals and topography keep her creatively inspired. She lives with her family in the hamlet of Shangri-La (still located on certain out-of-print maps) finding it a lovely place to write, as well as teach drawing and painting. Her hobbies are: collecting and misidentifying non-precious rocks; and interpreting her cat, Bug's "English-with-Limited-Consonants" speech.

She has worked in the advertising industry in various agencies as an art director, illustrator and graphic designer; also a "bullpen" artist for a commercial printer. Other jobs over the years have included stints with the Forest Services [U.S. and State of Oregon]; trail guide for horseback outfitters; and Thoroughbred race horse hot-walker and groom on the Del Mar [CA] backstretch, the inspiration for another novel soon to publish at Smashwords, "Trickster's Odds".
