About Courtney Milan

Courtney Milan’s debut novel was published in 2010. Since then, her books have received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly and Booklist. She’s been a RITA® finalist and an RT Reviewer’s Choice nominee for Best First Historical Romance. Her second book was chosen as a Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2010.

Courtney lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, a marginally-trained dog, and an attack cat. Courtney wishes she could say she has lived in numerous fabulous places. But aside from her husband, there is a distinct lack of fabulousness in her life. Instead, she is happy when standards in the Milan household hover above mediocrity. Her husband attempts not to kill people for a living. In exchange, Courtney attempts not to do the dishes.

Before she started writing historical romance, Courtney experimented with various occupations: computer programming, dog-training, scientificating... Having given up on being able to do any of those things, she's taken to heart the axiom that those who can't do, teach. When she's not reading (lots), writing (lots), or sleeping (not enough), she can be found in the vicinity of a classroom.

I liked it. You can understand why the characters did what they did.

I liked this story, even though it was quite a short one.

However I found myself drawn to the characters and loved that the heroine was not the typical lady but one that I think most girls can relate to.

I really liked Unlocked. It takes place in the same world as Unveiled, but with it's own characters. I really liked the theme of the story - that people can change and grow. That we sometimes act stupidly when we are young out of ignorance or embarrassment.
This is a little love story between two people who have had some rocky moments in their past but if they are willing to grow up, and let others mature too, they have a real chance at happiness
