Reviews of Unexpected Obsession, Book 1 - Unexpected Love by Barbara Strickland

Before I give my review, I would just like to say I have worked with the author previously.
I loved the tension between the two main characters, Nico and Lia.
It smacks you right in the face at the beginning and carries through to the end.
There are a few sections that need tightening, but overall the story flows well.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I came across this little gem whilst looking for a little romantic escapism. I loved the Italian setting as it's a place I've always wanted to go myself! The male lead, Nico is quite the alpha male type which I don't normally go for but there is something so extremely enticing about him and I loved the tension between him and Lia. I feel the book may need a little extra editing work but the story of family history and secrets, love, lust and loss is a great read and the characters are engaging and likeable (and the romantic scenes are VERY sexy!!) Definitely worth a read and will keep an eye out for the next book in the series.
