In the year 2276, all space exploration is dead. "Egomaniacal trillionaires ought to be good for something," announces James King, one of the world's richest men, as he leads a group of brave adventurists who seek to revive the spirit of exploration in humankind by mounting a car race around the circumference of the planet Mars. They will use the wind-powered race cars from an era long gone, when there were still open spaces on Earth. First, the adventurists must escape a paranoid and repressive Earth government. Then it is on to Mars where they face the challenges presented by the extreme elements of the red planet. Will they succeed? And at what cost?
