Vicious Circle Volume Two

Rated 5.00/5 based on 7 reviews
The purpose of my blogs is not to sell my books, but for the books to encourage people to read my blogs. My books, like essays, are both, the result of ideas discussed in my blogs, as well as progenitors or forerunners of ideas that are then discussed in my blogs. The two, fiction and non-fiction correspond to Being and Becoming.
The blogs are intended to stimulate people towards Secular Ethics. More

About Stanislaw Kapuscinski (aka Stan I.S. Law)

Architect, sculptor and prolific writer. His special interests cover a broad spectrum of arts, sciences, and philosophy. His fiction and non-fiction attest to his particular passion for the scope and the development of Human Potential. He authored more than thirty books, twenty of them novels, under the pen name Stan I.S. Law.

His life attests that his View of Reality leads to success and happiness. A refugee from Poland at 13, then at 33, having overcome the difficulties of schooling in a foreign language, he left England for Canada in search of new horizons. Later his family scattered, his house burned to the ground, the firm—where he worked for many years—bankrupt… he began his search for the secret of life. Now he is a successful writer, happily married for 25 years, with an assured future.

If you suspect you are more than flesh and bones, read Stan Law. If you want to be sure, read Stanislaw Kapuscinski.

It is not often that an author shares with us the thinking behind his novels. Non-fiction is self-evident, but I often wondered what motivates Stan Law to write the sort of novels which do not really fit into any genre. His worldview is just too broad to fit into any category. Now, thanks to this collection, I begin to know why. Read the blogs. One previous reviewer said, "they’re worth it." I agree. 5 Stars!

It’s been a while since I read Stan Law, even longer since reading Stanislaw Kapuscinski. Now, re-examining his blogs, I begin to understand his method. He uses his novels to explain the philosophical underpinning of his view of reality. And, trust me, a fascinating and enlightening view it is.
Read it, read the whole book, then reread it. It’s worth it!

It’s one thing to read Mr. Law’s fiction, be amazed by his concepts and imagination, and quite another to be told why and wherefore he wrote what he did. At first, I was annoyed at him destroying my imaginary world, then, much later, I was grateful when I discovered that all worlds are imaginary, ephemeral, and only exist in our consciousness, let alone in the consciousness of a talented writer. I shall never again read Mr. Law without wondering if he’s writing fact or fiction. They seem to blend into each other into a seamless continuity. Amazing!

I started reading Volume One on August 23rd. By the end of the month, I was sorry I’d finished. And here, today we have Volume Two! Thank you, sir. It’s another great collection. Your ideas seem to cover all aspects of life. I can but hope for more.

I have been playing with the idea of writing a historical novel, covering the fall of the Roman Empire. Research that the author did for “Peter & Paul” gave me some idea of the magnitude of work ahead of me. Yet having read his novel (some time ago), I recall having been transported to the Roman times, as though rubbing shoulders with the Romans. Now I see that there is much more to a good historical novel than just history. One must enter the mental and emotional states of people of that day. A very valuable lesson.
Thank you.

I’ve only just downloaded this book. It’s like revising old friends. I read most of the original postings, missing only a few. Now, thanks to Mr. Kapuscinski’s generosity, we can all benefit from his acquired knowledge at our leisure. And frankly, he’d written more books than I was aware of. That two is a very useful pointer where we can enjoy the fictional development of the ideas mentioned in blogs. I find the collection pure fun! Thank you.

I’d only just finished reading Vicious Circle One, when lo and behold, number Two is offered also for free. I only read five blogs, and already I can thoroughly recommend the volume. It is most enlightening without imposing on the reader. Five Stars!
