M.E. Brines spent the Cold War assembling atomic artillery shells and preparing to unleash the Apocalypse (and has a medal to prove it.) But when peace broke out, he turned his fevered, paranoid imagination to other pursuits. He spends his spare time scribbling another steampunk romance occult adventure novel, which despite certain rumors absolutely DOES NOT involve time-traveling Nazi vampires!

This is a great and timely work that showcases much that's wrong with American Christianity today, yet does so in a thought provoking and often humorous way. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more great reads from this author.

M.E. Brines has created a book that I feel really did make me think. I have left church behind for the basic reasons that he elaborates on in his book. I was involved in the Sunday school, and in the youth groups and found myself being spiritually deprived. I fit what he talks about in his expose Spiritual Embezzlement Made Easy. Well worth the read if you want really grasp what is going on. I realized everything he shared in this book. Well written and thought provoking. Bella Doerres Ma Ed 03/03/2013

This book was a real eye opener about the dicline of people in the church. I can really understand what the author is writing about. I see this happening to all the chuches in my area and surrounding areas. But what I did not get out of the book was what to do about the decline, and how to get this right in the church. This book is a good read to understand the church system and who has the power! AND IT IS NOT GOD. IT IS THE CHURCH LEADERS.
