I am not sure where it began, whether it was inherited through genes or something else, I heard both my grandads liked to gamble so it is entirely possible. One thing is for sure it is a gift which is hard to return, it is like going back to a shop with broken goods only to be told you can’t return it.
It has been an epic struggle to rid myself of gambling, what with it advertised so frequently on TV, the internet, on billboards, newspapers; it is really all around us, so it has been hard to just forget and leave it in the past. It has taken hold on a few occasions and in each case I have lost well more than I can afford, it usually lasts just a few weeks, but within those few weeks I lose a lot!In this book I talk about my struggles with gambling and steps I took to try and overcome it, as well as the affect it has had on family, relationships, everyday living and how it has affected me mentally. It is my view that online gambling is something that should never have been allowed and it has taken advantage of many people who don’t have a lot of money to begin with, people are lured in by means of lucrative sign up offers to get you hooked. In these uncertain economic times I believe much stricter measures should be put in place for online gambling!
