About Rita Hestand

Attention: I debated if I should say anything, but I have since seen some Kindle Authors speak up and even pull their books from Amazon because of the print sales. What they are doing is allowing third parties to sell our books, which means the publisher and the author get nothing from the sales, which isn't right. Since Amazon has chosen to let third parties sell some of our books, with their fast track buttons, I encourage all readers to buy directly from the publisher, like Createspace for the print copies. This way authors will get their due royalties, and you'll be assured of getting a new copy of the book. Otherwise nothing is assured. You may purchase a book from the Amazon quick button, but you are not assured of getting a new copy. So please, if you buy a print copy, buy direct from the publisher if possible. This is for your benefit as much as mine or any author.

It seems that we authors, and almost all people in the arts today have to stand up for ourselves and pay attention to what is going on in the retail world. Amazon is a company no writer can ignore as it is a source of income, however, they do seem to be narrowing the profits for writers and publishers now. And the end result for the reader is that if you buy directly you get new copies. If you don't it may not be new copies.

SALES: Okay, now is the time to stock up on my children's books and stories and also My western thrillers and all short stories and novellas. You will find a great deal discounted. Please feel free to take advantage of this sale. Since I've got quite a collection of books, I'm putting quite a few on sale. Now is the time to get those books and stories you've been wanting to read, but didn't want to pay a lot for. I've also discounted the Red River Brides box sets. Check those out too. I will endeavor to run sales on different books off and on so check back when you can and pick up the ones you haven't read yet. Money is tight so I want to offer an advantage for you.

Afraid in the dark released now and am working on the second Stalker book. Also Broken Hearted, a new contemporary western romance is Free for your enjoyment. His to Hold was released. Also a book that has been on the pre-order list for some time is Be Free My Heart, one of the books in the Dream Catcher series. The third book of the Connor series is going to be coming out soon, look for it, "Finding the Fairy Tale", hope you enjoy it. And it won't be long and The Ghost of Victor Frank will release. I'm finishing it up now. I have two more of the Brides of the West series coming too, The Lady Train, and Comes a Hero.

I've narrowed the free books to the first of new series books. Now you have Cinderella Nanny which is going off the shelves quickly, Broken Hearted (Cowboy Lovin' Series) Also, I've had low prices on my books for a long time and I feel after numerous edits, changing covers that the increases aren't that detrimental. A writer can only give books away so long, and I was giving away the .99 cent books for nothing after the Vat tax was included, not so much on Smashwords as Amazon. But Amazon insists we carry the same prices on the books. Which they really can't keep doing as putting a book up for free has to come from them. Amazon is not a writer friendly site right now. And please, I don't mean to harp on it, but when they do things like let third parties sell our books that are brand new, it's very hard for the writer and the reader to get the best benefits.

Also check out the books in audio on Audible. I have some great producers on there and the way they tell the stories really can captivate you. Remember the children's books can be listened to on the way to school, and then for the adults you'll find the Western Thrillers and The Brides of the West. I hope you will try some because these people are so talented.

I hope you enjoy the covers, but if there is some you don't like drop me a line at ritahestand@gmail.com and let me know. I love new covers and I love to experiment and see what you readers do like.

Also there are a lot of New Adult and Young Adult short stories that I truly hope you enjoy. If you're looking for a quick read and yet fulfilling romance, check them out. I'm adding a few children's stories too.

I have fifteen books in the Brides of the West Collection that are completed, but look for new ones coming, all stories stand alone so if you are only interested in certain ones, you won't miss something from another book. I have recently begun another Brides book, so I guess I'm not finished with them yet. I'm enlarging my Dream Catcher series, and working on the Connor Series too. Afraid in the Dark is out and The Car Stalker is next. I'm writing it as we speak and I hope it send real chills down your back when you read it. There's already several books in this series to come. The Brides of the West is not complete yet, I have decided to try for twenty in that series. but Red River Valley Brides Series are complete now. I'm going to try to finish the Dream Catcher series this year, and get busy on the Stalker series, along with some New Adult stories and children's stories for you. So try them you might really like them.

I'd like to say that fatasticfiction.com has a nice display of our books, please visit. They have every series in order for you to look at and it's a colorful site. If you want a print book I'd appreciate you buying directly from Createspace. This helps all authors not just me.

My site is looking very good and I hope you'll visit me there. http://www.ritaphestand.rocks

That's all the news for now. Stay tuned though! Blessing to all!

I don't generally read this type of book, but loved the story. How the writer laid it all out was great as well with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Made me purchase other books written by the author. Great read!

Now this is not my typical genre of book so I will do my best to not let my review be skewed by that fact. I approached this book fully knowing it was a romance and fully knowing that it would probably follow a certain dynamic. With that said I found this book to be a refreshing aside from most romance books with rather witty prose and a writing style that keeps you looking to the next page. I was fully taken back by the author's style and wish her luck in any future novels.

Nick's Baby was entertaining, very believable, and highly compelling as I turned each page. From Kelsey and Nick's first meeting I was hooked. With deep emotion and desperation flowing from Kelsey and Nick's sense of family and responsibility depicted in Ms. Hestand's unique style, I could not put this one down once I started it. I read it straight through. The passion was palpable between Nick and Kelsey and I applauded Nick's later handling of a delicate situation. Highly entertaining read and I gave it five stars.

What a wonderful story! I was sure from the blurb that this novel would be entertaining, but I didn't realize the range of emotions the story would extract. I found myself laughing out loud, heartbroken and feeling the high sexual tension the two main characters felt for each other. Nick and Kelsey are powerful together and Nick was so easy to fall for.

What I really didn't expect was to so thoroughly enjoy the secondary characters, including Nick's family and Kelsey's mother. And if Ms. Hestand doesn't write a sequel telling Jackson's story, I'm going to throw a fit! *g*

This is one of the best novels I've read recently and I can't wait to explore more of Ms. Hestand's books.
