Interview with Alice Albrecht

What prompted you to write Childrens' books.
My imagination. Even as an adult I still daydream when I hear a carnival is coming to town or it snows for the first time. When I write these book you could say I'm try to recapture the thrill that I felt when I was young and life was so much more exciting.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It was so easy to get published. I created everything in MSWord and posted for free. (5 books in 3 days)
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love pairing my narrative with illustrations. I am so fortunate that my illustrators create masterpieces out of a simple one or two line description. I feel that creating a great relationship with your illustrator is key.
What are you working on next?
I intend to turn my picture books into color books. Before next winter I intend to create Christmas cards out of three books. I Wish It Would Snow, Alley Cat Christmas Catastrophe and Alaska Animal Crew Christmas Adventure. I'm also working on converting my picture books to Spanish, Chinese and other languages.
