I began writing as a form of escapism, as a teenager. It wasn’t a conscious decision or choice. I’ve always made up stories in my head!

As a teen, so many books told me how I should think and react and they never matched my reality - I'm not a person who waits to be rescued, nor are most of the women I know! This is part of what makes indie publishing so amazing, books that promote different ways of thinking and experiences now exist. They may be harder to find but as people support them we can get a more diverse range that can actually reflect the reality we live in. That is brilliant and very much needed.
