Interview with Corey Cepeda

When did you first start writing?
Just last year 2019 !!! I sat down on my couch and hammered out the first 10 pages in a few hours. The rest as they say is history
What's the story behind your latest book?
This is the first of five books. La Familia - Loose Ends introduces you to the De Los Santos. A ruthless cartel family that has ruled Mexico with absolute supremacy for 50 years. A father is challenged by his two sons and hunted by his brother a Lieutenant in the Sinaloa State police. His wife attempts to keep their family from imploding while she maintains dominance in the country. Their youngest daughter will suffer and she becomes a pawn in tis violent lifestyle.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have had this story and characters in my head for years now. I finally decided to take ownership over my happiness control my own destiny.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
This has been a super easy user friendly platform to work with!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Escaping inside my mind and brining my characters to life.
What are you working on next?
I have already finished book 2. I am currently doing research on book 3 now.
Who are your favorite authors?
Vince Flynn
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My daughters, and understanding that my life could be cut short at any minute. So enjoy it, and be thankful for what I have.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love watching TV Drama shows...BREAKING BAD!!! I love horror movies, and murder mystery as well. I kick my families butt in chess and checkers and working out in the gym.
What is your writing process?
I fly from the seat of my pants and see where my story will take me. I try to not box myself in and just let the roller coaster go!
