What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have a burning passion to get the Good News of the Gospel shared far and wide and in every way possible. Indie publishing is one of the primary channels available for me to use.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has provided a wide open door for me to pursue my vision.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The subject matter! The Gospel is Good News. Jesus lived the sinless life we cannot live. He died the death sinful men and women like you and me deserve. Because of His substitutionary life and death He now makes righteous (puts right with God) all who believe. Hearing about Him and what He has done produces faith in us, and as we believe we receive the gift of salvation that the Lord has provided for us. Writing about the Good News builds my faith. It is a great blessing!
What is your writing process?
I'm a planner who rather painstakingly goes from concept to outline, and then simply puts the flesh on the skeleton. That said, it's not unusual for major revisions to the outline while fleshing out the first third of the book. At some point things seem to click into place, and the wrestling gives way to smooth sailing.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Good News! Good news for me and my family, and Good News for others!
What are you working on next?
The NOT CONFUSED series has my full attention at the moment. HOW TO READ THE BIBLE & NOT GET CONFUSED is complete at last. WHY THE GOSPEL IS THE BEST NEWS EVER is weeks away from publication. After that, it's I'M NOT CONFUSED ABOUT THE WILL OF GOD.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Leading the eldership team of an amazing church (The Highway Community Church in East London, South Africa) and making pottery in our home studio. I'm a family man at heart and enjoy my wife and children immensely.
