Interview with Loribel Maldonado

Published 2019-07-20.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Bible is the first of my favorite books because it is essential to living. Sit, Walk, Stand by Watchman Nee, The Invisible War by Chip Ingram, and all of Ken Hagin and AW Tozer's books.
What do you read for pleasure?
I prefer to read books that edify the soul and that are practical for daily living.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle, hands down. I used to own a Sony e-reader. It was the first reader that I ever owned. I grew my library to over 70 books and then they discontinued their platforms. I was not happy although I could transfer my library to Kobo it wasn't the same. Amazon is a giant and I don't foresee them going anywhere soon, safe to say that I can build my library again.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I havent found one yet, will let you know once I find it.
Describe your desk
I do not have one. I usually write in my laptop while on my recliner.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
My parents raised me in NYC therefore, it influenced my writing in that most of the references I use in my writing come from there.
When did you first start writing?
As far as I can remember I have always written, even as a child I wrote poems.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book was written with a desire to help believers stand against the enemy's tactics so that they are successful in their daily living.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Rejection.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords is a platform that is user friendly and provides tools to indie authors that they wouldn't otherwise have access to on their own; specifically a link to share their books for free downloads.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The ability to share with others.
