Interview with JessicaRae Pulver-Adell

Do you remember knowing when you needed to write?
I can't tell you how many times I sat in elementary school and copied down the "Publishing Process" posters in every one of my classes. It never failed. Year after year- multiple times a year- it didn't matter I knew the publishing process by heart when I was in fourth grade, I had to ingrain it in my entire being.

That's when I knew.
Describe your desk
My desk is filled to the brim with everything that inspires me. Copious amounts of pictures of my fur babies, a mini library to complement my bookshelves, faeries, crystals and mineral specimens, succulents and vines, flower wall decals, and reminders of the projects I am proud of.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Holistic Healing for Drug & Alcohol Addiction is something I've wanted to write for the last year. I've always wanted to write a book on holistic healing, I just did not know it would ultimately revolve around addiction. I wanted to give people without hope the drive to find their inner spirit and revitalize their beings. And who best to start with than those who are continually demonized in our society?
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
For me, writing is an expression of my soul; it is self discovery; it is helping others; it is liberating. The joy of writing is discovering planes untraversed inside of yourself and working them out on paper (or screen). It is a painful joy, but a necessary one.
What are you working on next?
Outside of the realm of books, I am working towards staring a magazine (perhaps literary) to raise awareness about the travails of homelessness. And while the publication is intended to help the Homeless connect with resources to get on their feet, my ideal is for it to serve as a vehicle for businesses and benefactors to pool their resources for community support. Conversely, the publication will teach people how to help the homeless effectively; the publication will bridge the two worlds.
