Interview with LaRen Lovee

Published 2016-09-23.
Describe your desk
HAHAHA! My desk right now, has paperwork and mail everywhere! Sometimes, I don't even sit at my desk to work...to concentrate a little more, im usually on the floor. It's My thing you know. it kind of relaxes me.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I actually grew up in a small town in Delaware. To escape anything I was going through, I would read. It all started with R.L. Stines Goosebumps books when I was about in second or third grade. I can say he is the first person to inspire me. THANK YOU R.L. STINE!
When did you first start writing?
I actually started writing in my 7th grade math class. Me and my then best friend would sit and write non fictional things happening in our lives with fictional characters. I actually still have that story.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me, is seeing the reactions to peoples faces, or their gasps when they read something crazy. I love the feedback. Good or bad. I like making people feel like they are actually right there in that situation. You know, connecting my readers.
What do your fans mean to you?
OH MAN! My fans MEAN THE WORLD TO ME! Without them, who else would motivate me to write more? They are all my supporters! I love them all!
What are you working on next?
I am actually working on the 3rd and final part to the Secret Night series. It's going to be better than the last two. I'm really excited for this one. A lot of twists and turns, and tons and tons of unexpected drama.
Who are your favorite authors?
I absolutely adore Zane and her writing. Carl Weber too. I like his style. he really keeps me on the edge of my seat.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have two daughters, and a fiance, and besides writing, I'm a stay at home mother. So everything I do, i do it for them.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
If im not writing, Im usually enjoying nature outside.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
yes, the first story i ever wrote was called Lost In The Ghetto. Like i stated earlier, that was the book i wrote in 7th grade. It was about a white high schooler, who got involved with an African american guy, and about bullying. It was pretty funny coming from a 7th grader.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Addicted by Zane is my top favorite because it had such a twist that my eyes literally bulged out of my head. Thats the kind of things I love to read. I also like, The Family Business 1,2,and 3.
