Interview with Lisa Freed

Published 2017-12-07.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I loved old school Harlequin romances with alpha males and wanted to write my very own.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing since middle school.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
honestly? rejection by publishers. Plus I saw the success others were having with self-publishing and thought why not.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The thrill of creating people that become real and take on personalities of their own.
What do your fans mean to you?
I write for reader enjoyment so to have fans that read my work and love it is very important.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on a time travel romance.
Who are your favorite authors?
Johanna Lindsey
Robert B. Parker
Jonathan Kellerman
Stephen King
Sue Grafton
Anne Stuart
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
my family- actually with small kids I have no choice but to get out of bed, they won't let me sleep in! and if not them my cats are on me to get up.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading!
and long walks on the beach. I'm a fan of sea glass and enjoy collecting. I found my first piece of red and a yellow this past summer (both rare).
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
word of mouth. Whatever pops up on my Kindle or Nook that interests me.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do! A children's book- someday I'll publish it.
