I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I started out with diary/journal entries when I was young. As a teenager, I wrote poetry and song lyrics. Eventually, I branched out into writing my own stories. For years, I kept my writing to myself, but I finally got up the nerve to share my work and I'm so happy I did because I've had a blast writing smutty tales for my readers.

When I'm not reading or writing, you can usually find me watching TV (I'm always binge-watching something on a streaming site) or listening to music during long car rides. I'm a huge fan of True Crime and I love to listen to podcasts while I work out or run errands. I eat way too much chocolate and I never get enough sleep. I love going out dancing with my friends and you might run into me at the dog park with my favorite guy, Boomer.

Mainstream publishing tends to play it safe and that's never been my approach to writing. I love writing and reading stories that push boundaries and from what I can tell, there isn't much room for that with the big publishers. I believe there should be a place for writers to share the stories they want to write, no matter how taboo or controversial. With that in mind, I decided to self-publish my own work so I wouldn't have to worry about anyone telling me what I could or couldn't write.

Smashwords has given me a place to publish the stories I want to write and the freedom to do so without censoring my work. The SW tagging system allows me to put my stories in front of readers who are interested in the subjects I write about. I love this site for allowing writers and readers of niche genres to find and connect with one another.

My go-to genres are romance and erotica. I read a lot of indie and self-published authors because they tend to push boundaries in ways mainstream writers usually aren't able to. I'm also a fan of true crime and I'm always up for a good atmospheric mystery/thriller.

It's all about the initial idea for me. When I come up with a new story idea, I immediately jot it down in a notebook or in a document on my phone. For some stories, I'll write a chapter-by-chapter outline but for others, I'll just start churning out the story one paragraph at a time. If I get stuck while writing, I'll go for a long drive or hit the gym for a few hours to just get out of my head until the creative juices start flowing again.

The most important part of cover design for me is finding a good stock image. The image has to be sexy, but it also has to fit the story I've written. Once I've got the right stock image, I use a free graphics program to create my cover.
