Interview with Karsten Ramser

Published 2018-03-12.
What is your writing process?
Actually the process is part of my everyday living, what I am writing is what I am doing, it reflects my experience. Sometimes it just flows and sometimes it is hard work, but there is not such a thing as a writing process itself, it is the expression of what I am thinking, believing and doing.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No. But what I do remember the impact of Herman Hesse, when I was a very young boy, it was the confirmation of my inner feeling, that there is much more than the world we know. It was a door, a gateway to a different reality. We can it was the "official" beginning of my searching.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I am not an indie author, I am just someone who writes because he have something to say. All this "box-thinking" of being this or that, has no meaning. There is a need for conscious development, and I am just a part to fulfil this need.
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't care about fans, I care about that my writings inspire people to break out of the mental slavery and discover the amazing beauty of the transpersonal and non-dual reality.
Why you write books?
Knowledge is to share. Sharing the knowledge is just the natural way. And I live to write.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In Germany, Hamburg. My childhood was mark by suffering and this marked me writing strongly, because the extreme suffering push me forward to search, and this searching leads me to all kinds of therapies and finally to the transpersonal state of consciousness, which is the main term of my work.
When did you first start writing?
Really young, but only for myself. It helps me to get a clear head, and to take a distance to reality. Writing was always a way to express the deepest feelings I had, through out all my life, in a way that I write now books is a logical consequence.
Who are your favorite authors?
Ken Wilber. Alan Watts. Herman Hesse. Rumi and much more.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Life. The fact that I am consciousness. The amazing sensation to be alive.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Painting. Sculpturing. Photography. Being in nature. Being around with friends. Making videos.

the aphorisms or sutras in this book are the direct expression of the essence of the tao. when you allow them to empty your mind and fill your heart transformation will happen naturally without any effort. the tao te ching has an essence that is beyond time, but the words are not timeless, they are depending on the Zeitgeist. my intention is to express this essence in modern words.
