Interview with Mardi Shakti

Published 2014-07-29.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Firstly, I have a lot to say!

But mostly, I am interested in "the street"; authentic, bohemian culture: "Real People".

I'm a Revolutionary. Independent (Indie), Sovereign - I want to be a part of The People; not 'apart' from people.
I like to be accessible.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Ah, the joy of writing...

To me, it is basically the translation and transmission of Light; one atom of Solar Power can radiate into a million words.
But the power is in being able to translate a million words into the essence of the message.

Writing is the time-traveller; I AM everywhere, at once.
What do your fans mean to you?
What is a writer without a reader?

Fans are friends.

I am honoured to keep the company of like minds.

We're all in this together. :)
What are you working on next?
O, I have so many projects waiting in my head!

Due to being Houseless for the last three years, I have not had the stability to get them out in time.

My next book is called;
"Enlightenment: what now?"
- it's nearly done ;)

Following that is:
"FREEDOM FOR DUMMIES"; Global Slavery made simple.

And another book is in the works, also nearly ready, but that one is a secret... possibly to be published under a pen-name.

I am creating an oracle deck, writing a tv pilot, and writing my movie scripts!
Who are your favorite authors?
To be honest, Thoth.
I like the Ancients; the beginning of time... The Universal Stories that are the same the world over.
Told by the Elders, written by the stars...

But I have fond memories of Christopher Pike, too!

Andrea Grant is a personal favourite - Mythtriss of many trades.

Karen Bishop is Beloved; she's keeping it real. She engaged me.

Osho, Jung, and random treats from the Mysterious Collective... like, "Synchronicity and You", by Frank Joseph.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Not doing too well in that department, lol - I have a realistic outlook on life, and The Global Slavery System is just ugly...

I like to stay in my cave, and write to the world about my Heaven.

Hopefully we can build it, here.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I Love water!

Bathing, sleeping, and learning to drive so I can relocate to my Jupiter City! (Astrological Jupiter Line)

I LOVE CINEMA
I LOVE MUSIC
I HATE THIS TOWN
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Like it was my first kiss...

There was a shed, out the back of my Aunty's place ~ there was a storm, and bats, I swore.
Icy rain
Purple lightning
Tin apex
Witchy skies...

I wrote about some macabre dimensional rift to do with the scene, and probably brought it to school, the next day.

I often dream about that view from the window...
What is your writing process?
First, my mind is flooded; by light, information, concepts, and memories...

A bit like a puzzle.

When I first learned to write at a computer, I was THRILLED with cut/paste; it allowed me to swiftly put that puzzle in the order of its undercurrent.

I write, write, write.

- even weirder, is how much writing (tapping) I do from my phone, these days... I Love how interactive it is, the internet... a world of readers and writers!
It's like when I used to write in my diary, and wished it would write back; now we do!

Phone-tapping (ha) is like the future; but only one half of a future - something is wrong.

I don't like writing without a keyboard; tapping feels like the wrong direction for mankind!!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Ooo ~ that's a good question...

I was reading at a very young age - Mum was into books :)

We had all the Noddy, Fairytales, and Enid Blyton you could throw a stick at.
Brilliant books you'd never heard of; collections... Fables. One about Father Time. One about the Fabric of Life... I Loved that lady with the basket who swept cobwebs from the sky...
And European stories translated to my native tongue; it was like watching foreign films as a kid!

But I'm going to choose: TERRY JONES' FAIRY TALES

I learned so much from those tales; how to be the BEST person.
Everyone should read: "The Glass Cupboard".
How do you approach cover design?
Mmm. I let the book speak to me.

I condense the content and message into an image that appears like a ghost...

And I try to make that a reality.

Some books have more spirit; images are born, more naturally.

Some covers require brainpower to really 'craft' in honour of the book you're about to read.

I like to keep my covers as natural - human - as possible.

I put my Heart and Soul into my work; I want it to look alive.

This is the story of a girl’s transformation into Goddesshood. Written during her Kundalini Awakening at age 27, after the Twin Flame encounter that ignited it, this book itself is an initiation into multi-dimensional awareness. Following Moira is pure light, fractured into a prism.
