Interview with Muriel Oliver

Published 2016-01-29.
When did you first start writing?
In the last few years, I started penning some books that I felt would fill some gaps of information currently available to users.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Everybody always asks me where they can read more on Discretionary Trusts or Business Structures or other related topics. Whilst there is a plethora of technical and legal information out there, to date I have found nothing to fill this gap and provide some basic information in summary form for the purposes of the everyday user. This is why I've started writing these books!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Because it is so easy if you know what you want to say and have the time to give it a try - I thought of it a bit like a new adventure...
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
By making it so easy and streamlining the process.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Putting information out there that is useful (hopefully!) to others and bringing concepts together.
What are you working on next?
I've just completed a book on Negative Gearing and the next in the pipeline is a 12-part series on Business Structuring in Australia.
