Interview with Ralph Lebrun

Published 2017-03-14.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small rural town near the Tampa Bay area of Florida. At night with no air conditioning I could always hear the trains.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing after moving to the Central Florida area around 2009. The idea for the Collector's Series was born around 2013.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love having the ability to tell my stories.
What is your writing process?
I find that I first write everything by hand into a Journal - then I begin the editing process by typing my books into my Chromebook.
Describe your desk
At this time my desk is portable. I find the inspiration to write can come at anytime so I write wherever and whenever I can. So you may find me at the dining room table, on the sofa in my room, in a chair in the living room, or at any table at a cafe in my favorite bookstore.
What are you working on next?
A new book based on a female lead.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Actually it was a short story written in the form of a play called "Why Cows Don't Fly"
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love the freedom it gives me to write the books I want.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has given me the ability to write and publish my books in a way that gets them into the hands of true readers.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Woodcraft - Steampunk Creations for our business.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Coffee!
