Interview with Robin Clark

What inspired you to write this book?
I think fear is a motivating factor in our lives. This conclusion was apparent when I decided to step outside my comfort zone and travel across the globe to Greece. I challenged myself, a young single widowed woman. Astrocartography instilled curiosity. Fear motivated me to feel alive and to believe there is a place on the planet where I could find connections, synchronicities and great joy. I am so thankful I did not let fear deter me. I found profound joy. I'm so grateful for the experience of a life time!
When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was very young. I found refuge in a pen and paper. I think I started like many, poems and short stories for school. My first book, Shhhh Breathe was a memoir and its follow up a personal care guide, Battling Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia The Real Fight For Those With Ph+ALL.
Naked Without A Hat was so fun to write! It chronicles a journey back to life via Astrocartography. And what a fun journey it was. I encourage everyone to try it out. The many nuances of the science and the incredible fear factor of stepping outside your comfort zone is exhilarating!
What's the story behind your latest book?
Naked Without A Hat is a story of realization. One day we wake up alone, retired, kids are off on their own and now we can do anything. I was a young widow, 54 years old, alone and ready to begin my second act. All the hats I worn throughout my life were on the floor and not on my head. So many of us experience this very weird feeling of "now what?" I wanted to find the perfect vacation spot, the perfect place to live and I found it through Astrocartography, the science of finding where you belong on the planet. I was told the perfect spot on the planet for me was Greece. I trusted and went. What I found was pure joy, pure connection to the people and the land. It was an adventure of a life time. And I wrote two books in one, an adventure and a love story. So much fun!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have always been an extremely positive person, even through a tumultuous upbringing. I have never let life get in my way but have enjoyed the challenges it brings to the table. I did go through a rough patch in 2016 when I lost my husband and both parents. There were a few months I didn't want to get out of bed. But inspiration comes in all forms. Somedays its because my body says, "get up!" Or because the ocean outside my window calls me, "Its time for your run." I love embracing the what's next feeling everyday.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashword is a great platform to launch a book. It opens so many doors and the exposure is fantastic. We all need a little help. I appreciate the site for its benefits and easy navigation. A few years back this type of exposure was not available and becoming a recognized author was almost impossible. So thank you Smashwords!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy is getting it out of my head! I am sure most writers are happy when its on paper and not swirling around in the depths of our brains. So many story lines, characters and plots to get out. And when it all comes together, it's awesome!

Astrocartography, commonly known as Relocation Astrology, maps out the positive and negative places on the planet that your energies united with at the moment of your birth. These places will determine success and happiness, or failure and anxiety. Needing a change, I took my friend’s advice. What I found was so much more than happiness. Step inside if you are brave enough.

There will be many defining moments in our lives, cancer is one of them. The family dynamics will be challenged in these moments. Some will grab the bull by the horns, stay through the storm and weather its damages. Some run and hide, denying the inevitable and the broken pieces that await them. Some will give wisdom and advice without experience and knowledge, but they feel better for trying.
