Interview with Sean Elliot Russell

Published 2016-09-26.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I've never been very good at anything--possibly save for writing. Writing, whether fiction or inspirational blogging, has been one area that I could explore the questions of life and, more importantly, some of the answers to life that I have discovered through experience and observation. I have, as an author, a long way to go. But I'm teachable and using what I have to hopefully uplift others--especially in their own life journeys. Through writing, I endeavor to bring the reader to a place where they, too, can encounter the One. I used to write that it's enough to simply express through writing. And this is true. However, how much more enthralling it is when others come along too and experience something through my works.
What are you working on next?
I've been working on a fantasy novel that I've been finding to be a joy to write simply because in that realm, there are only the limitations of imagination. One can truly create a world and have so much fun while doing it. It's going to be called THE DRAGON SEAL. And I hope to complete it before the end of this year.
Who are your favorite authors?
I was hugely impacted by Stephen King while growing up. I've also been influenced by William P. Young, Frank Peretti, Roger Elwood, Lloyd C. Douglas, and Lew Wallace. Their wordsmith mastery truly has encouraged me to grow and develop as a writer.
