I'm currently writing the first book in my first Mafia Romance story. It's a 7-book series and it's a Dark Mafia story of seven sexy cousins who will have their hearts touched and claimed by seven curvy women with guts and brains. So, Book 1 is my next book. Watch out for it.

I don't have all the patience in the world to sit twiddling my fingers, while a busy Editor takes twelve solid weeks to consider my manuscript and give me a reply. I believe each author has a unique voice, but this can be quickly tweaked by a persistent Editor, so that one author sounds exactly like another.

I saw a paperback novel on the seat of a train as I wrote my first novel - LOITERING SHADOWS. I leafed through, and discovered the author was self-published. I researched all about self-publishing. The idea of becoming an indie author appealed to me more because of the freedom that comes with being an indie author. Plus I can set my own deadlines.

Interestingly, I look forward to clinching a book deal someday. The Editor and I will work together to achieve our objective.

I started writing part time in May 2010 and my full-time writing took off in 2013.

I grew up in a historically bustling city in South-South Nigeria, called Benin City. As a teenager, I spent endless hours in bed reading tons of romance novels after getting my teeth into maths and science subjects. Journeying with several characters to various destinations, laughing and crying with them, anxiously waiting to find out how they worked through their conflicts always kept me going back for yet another romance novel.

My growing up years have definitely influenced my writing. Three of my six books (LOITERING SHADOWS, BEYOND the LADY & HUSBAND to RENT) are set and have reference to my home town, Benin City.

My family for sure. My dearest best friend and husband plus my loving children make me smile as I get out of bed. I'm thankful for each new day God gives us together.

Also, my head and heart ticks with characters that have heart and soul, life-size personalities, real emotion and conflict. Their intense and twisting tales keep me inspired each day. When I wake up, I reach for my phone, tablet or notepad to keep track of the storylines.

It usually starts with a broad storyline of the main characters. Sometimes, I don't have a title at the start. What I know from the onset are the characters birth place, not where their career or heart takes them. Although my new release - Red Velvet Rose - did not follow this process. Readers on Facebook supplied the heroine's name, personality and birthplace - so awesome.

Then, I type the story as the characters take me on their own journey of self discovery. Their dialogue flow readily when I'm awake and asleep. I type a number of chapters each day. There are days in between when I don't write. I find this writing pattern very helpful.

When I come back to the story a day or two later, I read a few preceding paragraphs and then continue the story with the excitement and fervour from the previous writing.

When the first draft is complete, I set it aside until I'm ready to rewrite and edit. After engaging in multiple edits, I send it to my publishers to generate a proof copy. Editing and tweaking continues after proofing until the book is ready to be released.

My fans are the most important people. After each book is published, I keep my fingers crossed until I read the views from my fans. Their words excite me and keep me tapping on my keypad. The feedback (great and not so great) gives me the push for the next story.

Designing my book covers has evolved over time. Sometimes I get my cover designer to do it. When I do it myself, I get feedback and approval from my husband and children. IRRESISTIBLE Passion book cover was designed by me and approved by my family. Readers love the cover.

His Ring Book Cover was designed by a dear author friend. Same as my previous book, Indecent ~ So Seductive. And I did not even send her my characters profile. She just knew what I want and the book covers are a hit with readers.

The book covers for my last six titles were professionally designed. I usually forward the book title, physical character profile for my hero and heroine to my cover designer with a few sketchy thoughts about their personalities and background. Quite often, the designer comes up with draft designs of their interpretation. Together, we fine tune until I'm satisfied. I get feedback from my husband and children.

More recently, for my last four releases, I designed the eBook covers myself on Canva.com. My teenage children and husband tweak it until we are all happy. And Mario Lazarou of Obsessed by Book Designs helps create the Paperback covers with the background photographs taken by my Sweetheart.

My greatest joy and fulfilment comes from getting feedback (good and not so good) from readers. After each writing journey, rewriting, editing, re-editing and publishing, it gives me tremendous satisfaction to read what my readers think of the characters and storyline. I get a great kick when readers urge me to publish yet another story. Readers asked all the time for me to publish Zane's story and so I did in RED VELVET ROSE.

My joy is also wrapped up superbly when a story that started like a mustard seed, grows and blossoms into a fruitful tree seen as a finished book.

I have found the use of Social Media a great way to reach my readers, e.g. TikTok (@authorstella), Facebook (Flirty & Feisty Romance Novels), Twitter (@stellaea). Also, online retailers like Amazon and Smashwords provide e-market place to reach a wider audience.

A whole bunch of romance novels. I'm a huge fan of contemporary romance. There's not enough time to read as many novels as I have on my Kindle. In reality, I wish I had more time to read. Historical romance novels rank next on my pleasure list. In the past, I have read thrillers. But I have lost my appetite for anything that does not end in happy-ever-after. And I have no apologies for my sassy taste.

In the past, my Kindle Fire was my favourite for sure. Has so many cool features. More recently, I've used my Mobile Phone more due to convenience.
