Interview with Bryson Hughes

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I honestly believe that the subject matter of "Stars of Glory: An Odyssey in Reality" is profoundly important to the knowledge of humanity. This, my contribution to the human condition is what gives me a sense of joy with the writing and publishing of this book. I've tossed the proverbial bread upon the waters. Maybe in a few hundred years it will have a beneficial place in our world. Spirituality is a huge part of the human experience, and I simply had to share the knowledge. I really couldn't ultimately just hold it in. Letting it out gave me a sense of personal release and joy.
When did you first start writing?
The story of my youthful experience of being initiated into spirituality and prophetic experiences was something that I felt I should write about from nearly the time that it began. However the stresses of such experiences left deep and sore scars in my own spirit. I tried to write about it off and on over the following years, but I just couldn't. When I read back what I had written, there was an element of angst and bad vibes emanating from me. I realized that it would take some time for my own personal recovery until I could write about those events constructively. I spent many hours refining my thoughts and written communication skills by actively engaging in online forums in order to be prepared to write this book. Finally after about 20 years after the initial event, my spirit was calm and I began to write about it in 2007. I was on the road driving a semi truck and in my spare time I would write an episode or two. The time served me well as I even managed a sense of humor to pervade my writing about those traumatic spiritual experiences.
What's the story behind your book?
The seeds of the book were planted in my encounters with a mysterious entity, who turned out to be Jesus Christ, initiating me into realms of reality that were up to that time unimaginable to me. My account of those initial spiritual experiences is an important topic on many levels. As the person who actually experienced those events, I carry a personal perspective of things of interest to theologians, parapsychologist, psychiatrist, and others who might share similar experiences. As chaotic as those events seemed, there is an underlying paradigm authored by God himself, to which I was being conformed. Much of what I experienced is actually written about in the testimonies of prophets in the Bible and other traditional Jewish accounts. That is what makes the telling of the account some important! I give detailed descriptions of events and experiences mutual to prophets that clarifies what those prophets also experienced, and of what the prophetic protocols actually are and what they are like. It seems important to me to present some demystification of things of theological relevance. My experiences clarify a number of other spiritual mysteries with esoteric insight. I felt therefore, the book must be written.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
While people find my recounting of encounters with angels, Jesus, and other entities a fascinating topic, I realized that commercial publishers weren't going to find a market for the repository of esoteric knowledge that my book actually is. The priority was to just get the book out there to the vast public so that it might fall into the hands of those who can benefit from it. That is where Smashwords Publishing worked for me. Another benefit is that I can republish the book any time with updates, additional references, answers to questions from readers, artwork and photographs, and anything else that would enhance the readers benefit of sharing my journey with me. It doesn't have to ever be a truly finished book, and that is a great benefit with indie publishing.
What do your fans mean to you?
If I had a fan, what it would mean to me is a commitment to answer any correspondence and questions they might have in order to help them place the puzzles pieces together and see the big picture that is ultimately there to be seen.

This account conveys the experiences of myself as a young man being visited by spiritual beings. This odyssey touches upon many themes of spirituality, psychology, the nature of existence and reality, depicted in real life events. Both horrific and comforting, this account sheds light on prophetic and spiritual mysteries. A psychological goldmine.
