Interview with E.C. Jones

Published 2016-08-07.
What is your writing process?
To get my creative juices flowing, I put on a little music and dim the lights. I close my office door, shut out the world and let go. Interestingly so, my most hectic weeks are usually when I can write continuously with ease.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first set of stories I ever read that impacted me were the Stephen King novels. The characters in his story lines always kept me captivated. I remember starting one of his books and never being able to put it down until I finished it and even then I had to go back to the book store and buy another.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Well, I usually spend my free time with my family. I happen to be an amazing cook so I generally cook and discuss life with whatever family and friends I have on hand. Most of the time that is, the love of my life and my children.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I search specific genres and read the ones with the most interesting descriptions and customer reviews.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
That's is an extremely hard question. I have read upwards of about 400 books in the last few years and I absolutely loved at least half of them. An easier question would be, what are my favorite books from some of my favorite authors? And the answer would be:

Tina Folsom - The entire "Scanguards" and "Venice Vampyr" series
T.M. Nielsen - The entire "Heku" series
Marie Hall - "The entire Kingdom" series
Evangeline Anderson - "The Brides of the Kindred" series

I probably could go on and on but I will stop there. We could be at this all day!
