Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Ohio and moved quite a bit which, without getting too detailed is going to be part of my writings. I am a single gay parent and have experienced more than most. I plan to use this in my book as a tool people who are in similar situations can use to help or prevent mishaps.

I am curious about how many single gay fathers there are, as I am the only one I know of. I want to also know how many people have been affected by the heroin epidemic and would be interested in some advice about living with addicts?
When did you first start writing?
This is my first time!
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is the start of a serious I am planning to write that is based off my experience. It covers being a single gay adoptive parent, with in-depth experience about living with addicts.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I am currently a homemaker and I wanted to do more since I had to leave my job because of childcare costs and being single with 3 children.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Well again, this is all new to me so I am hoping that they help get my story out there and people will be interested in reading it.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I am loving the idea that I have this opportunity because I really feel that I have a story people may want to hear.
What do your fans mean to you?
Well, the only fans I have right now are the three little ones that I have and the mean more than the world to me.
What are you working on next?
part 2 of the new book I am getting ready to release here soon.
Who are your favorite authors?
I don't think I really have a favorite. If it catches my eye then I will keep reading.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that I am trying to make better lives for all of us.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I actually would reverse the question and say that when I am not being a parent I write when I can.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Honestly, I am still pretty new to ebooks. I am an old school at heart and really have only read a couple.

This one is it!
What is your writing process?
I lived it, so I write it with emotion and realism.

Where the red fern grows, may not have been the first story I have read but the impact has been the greatest.

What are your five favorite books, and why?
Where the red fern grows, the grapes of wrath, and all the harry potter books. Probably because of the sense of adventure and friendship.
