Interview with E. Plotts

Published 2013-10-20.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in many places and states ranging from SC, NC, GA, MA, CO, CA, and ultimately Detroit, MI. I think growing up in so many different areas has added to my ability to write with versatility and write about topics in a wide range of genres. I've experienced a lot and made relationships with many types of people. It's made me love all humans and I want to write for everyone and reach out to every audience with my works.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing for as long as I can remember. The earliest memory I have is when I was 9 years old. I was writing a short story about a voyage to the center of the earth for a class assignment. I just kept writing page after page and was at the kitchen table for 4 hours writing my story. I would have wrote more if my mother wouldn't have told me to go to bed.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is "The Orgasm Cookbook". I wanted to teach people a trick that I have learned to help women achieve better orgasms.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've been writing music my entire life. Even though I knew in the back of my head that I was a very creative story writer I stuck with music. It wasn't until recently that I realized my true calling and decided to start pursuing a career in writing.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It has allowed me to get my work out to more people.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Well right now the greatest joy of writing is the positive feedback from fans. I love it when someone reads one of my works and likes it so much that they feel compelled to go and leave a positive comment. I'm a new author and I don't care how "known" I get, every comment will always count to me!
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean EVERYTHING! I love my fans! If I could meet all of my fans individually I would thank them all for reading my material.
What are you working on next?
Well I've got a couple of projects coming out in a couple of weeks. All I can tell you is one is about a supernatural encounter that is 100% true and the other is an informational read on how to become successful in a struggling economy. Cat let to much of the cat out of the bag.
Who are your favorite authors?
Dan Brown, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Mary Shelley, John Grisham
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My beautiful kids. I love them so much. It's why I do everything I do. The thought of my children is what guides me to take the actions and strive for my dreams.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing I like hiking and hanging out at the beach with friends. I love people and being around people so when I'm not writing I am definitely with friends or family doing something.
