Interview with Cornelious Jordan

What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is called Love's Imposter. I wrote this book for the people who are like me and grew up around a lot of arguing and unsuccessful relationships. After my second messy break-up I began to ask myself questions. Why do my relationships have such explosive arguments? Why do we call each other ugly names? Why do I lose my temper to the point that I am enraged? A friend invited me to church and I heard this scripture, "Be angry, but do not sin in your anger." That day changed my life. I began to dig deep to discover more of what I just heard. Today, I am a new person. My following relationship was completely different from all the others. We never cursed at one another or called each other ugly names. I didn't say we didn't argue. We did, but our arguments were healthy. We did not sin in our anger. I wrote this book because I wanted to share with you my journey. If I could change from a man repeating a vicious cycle to having a healthy relationship anyone can. I am going to share with you how I did it.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story, I ever wrote was in second grade. I don't remember it verbatim, because I was seven years old. I remember it being about prehistoric times and the sky was one big cloud. One day a volcano erupted and separated the sky. That year, my teacher submitted it into a short story contest and I won first place. I guess there was a writer in me all along. I believe my mom has that story and the award somewhere. Lol, as mom's tend to do.
How do you approach cover design?
The Financial Plan for Tip Makers and Everyday People's book cover was actually inspired by the Fifty Shades of Grey cover. The simplicity having the tight shot of a necktie on the cover is genius. It's almost a brand or a logo. That image is burned so deeply into our minds, if you walked into the bookstore, the title was removed, and all you see is that image, you would still know what the book is. That is the effect I wanted for my cover. The simplicity of a planner and the golden pen. The two together exemplify what it takes to apply "The Financial Plan...". You will literally need to plan and write your budget. The golden pen represents long term. No one throws away a golden pen. The pen represents something you will need for years to come.
