What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
On my printed book, Ghost Train, book signings have went quiet well.
Describe your desk
My desk can be a mess sometimes. More so if I'm researching something.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in southern and mid Mississippi. I probably still use some of the diction of that area.
When did you first start writing?
Approximately ten years ago.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book, which will be publish soon is the third in a trilogy about a bounty hunter in the latter part of the 19th century. He hold a special US Deputy badge, which opens up certain doors for him. It is entitle Shooting Wyoming Willie: Loner with a Badge.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
The ease of publication.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Seeing the finished product. Having someone tell me they enjoyed a certain book.
What do your fans mean to you?
I feel obligated to deliver the best I can to them
Who are your favorite authors?
I like to read westerns and some, but not all of my writing is in that genre. My favorite western authors are Peter Brandvold and Ralph Cotton. Outside of westerns I read Ed Gorman, James Patterson and several others.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
A trip to the bathroom.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Searching Smashwords and Amazon.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Ghost Train.
What is your writing process?
I collect my thoughts on a writing pad. Once I have several pages, I go to the computer and expand on them.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
It was probably Treasure Island. I was at an age where children can be mentally transported to where the takes place.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to select a cover that pictures a major premise of the story.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything that has a lot of intrigue.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The format.
What are you working on next?
An e-book entitled Shooting Wyoming Willie.
