Interview with Susan Reabuck

Published 2017-09-29.
Who are your favorite authors?
J.R. Ward (BDB swoon), Patricia Briggs, Jeaniene Frost, Laurell K. Hamilton, Stephen King, Debbie Macomber are my go to books.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. I am letting the readers into my head and sharing with them a little piece of my soul. It is like we are all on this journey together and sharing in something special to me. I encourage anyone to contact me and let me know how my work has impacted you.
What do you read for pleasure?
Romance and para-romance. I love a strong female lead and of course some hot sexy men. Mostly I love the feeling you get when you have a great leading man in the book that shows some vulnerability. I think that is what draws me to the para-romances. Generally the main male character is some sort of super human (vampire, shifter, angel etc.) then to dee them fall in love and need a woman just gives me the good feels.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I have always loved reading and the escape that it gives me from the everyday stresses and I also have always created my own stories in my head mostly as a way to occupy myself when I am bored or can't sleep. I felt that after all of this time that I should share some of these stories and give others a getaway from the stresses of life and take them on a journey with me.
What are you working on next?
I have a few projects. More romance because I am a completely hopeless romantic. I also have some erotic romance and para-romance I am working on. All strong female leads with hot sexy men in them.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family. My husband, two sons and my dog are everything to me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Taking care of my family or crafting. I love to knit, crochet and do adult coloring books.
Describe your desk
My favorite place in the world. My kitchen. I love to cook and feel like my kitchen is the heart of the home.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have been obsessed with Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, so a Scottish story seemed easy and it was. I wanted to start out by showing what I could do in a lightish romance book before I started writing more hard core deeper novels.
