R. C. Huff is a decent writer, but this book is an embarrassment. The story purports to be 'pulp fiction', but while the plot and setting show promise, the writing would get a derisive rejection from any pulp editor. The first rule of pulp fiction is "Tell a story". The narrative flow of this piece is just plain dreadful, and the technological background is laughably inconsistent. It's not just bad science fiction, it's bad writing.
