It takes courage and a lot of determination to write a memoir for ones own child. Having lost a son, I understand the crippling, desperate sense of loneness. Ann has skillfully brought us though the Deirdre’s devastatingly short illness and her own initial grieving process. We travel along with Ann sharing some of the pain and gaining insight to how another mother has found ways to cope. I felt a huge sense of empathy and helped me to again process my own grieving – a process that is on going for any parent. Thanks Ann.
