This book had me absolutely hooked from start to finish. I couldn't put it down!! It's INCREDIBLY graphic and gruesome, so reader beware, but the slowly budding relationship between Yhalen and Bloodraven was beautifully woven in amidst all of the violence. The political intrigue was perfect, with multiple characters all varying shades of grey morality presenting an engaging world. The sinister Elvardo especially was a terrifyingly interesting figure, and probably my favourite character. I loved this book, and while it may not be for the faint of heart, reading it was an enriching experience.
