  • A Little Fairy Dust on Dec. 21, 2022

I really enjoyed this though I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings. I also liked that a couple of them had a minor connection to each other. I don't recall any typos, etc that dragged my attention away from the story and all the characters were well written enough to be relatable. I won't go into detail about the plot as part of the fun was guessing which fairy tale(s) were the basis as the different quirks of each story came up. This was my first time reading anything by Mell Eight and it was enough for me to pick up some other works to try out.
  • Ground of Insurrection on Dec. 22, 2022

A very neat bit of world building going on here. I enjoyed the overall story of former criminals making a life for themselves in a dangerous chunk of land. The back story of the prairie was also pretty neat. While the story itself does not end on a cliffhanger, I knew there was a second book and immediately bought it when I finished this one. I'm hopeful there will be more stories taking place in this world in the future.
  • Ground of Resurrection on Dec. 22, 2022

I bought this immediately after finishing the first book because I just wanted more of the world. A couple characters from the first book do make an appearance, but this book is mostly about Michael (who goes by Dare now - that is explained pretty early on in the story). Further back story on the wizard war itself and how the prairie, etc were created is provided which just enhances some pretty solid world building started in the first book. Dare's story is well written and I hope there will be more in this series down the road to enjoy.
  • Sound the Fairy Call on Dec. 29, 2022

This is a very short, yet satisfying and well written, story about finding comfort when you need it.
  • Elemental Ride on Jan. 09, 2023

This is a fairly quick read with some really cool world building going on. In this world people make contracts with sprites where the sprite lives in their body for 10 years. The host gains the use of the sprite's powers (example: an earth sprite can cause the ground to shake). The reason for these contracts is explained in the story so I won't get into that, but it's a very neat concept (especially as to how it relates to Reign) so I'd love to read more stories set in this world.
  • The Frog in the Room on Jan. 27, 2023

Super short, smutty story involving frog shifters. There is a bit of an attempt at world building that makes me wish the story was longer.
  • Nut Cream on Jan. 27, 2023

Cute and smutty. Makes good use of the "pining for each other, but thinking their love is unrequited" trope.
  • Hitman vs. Hitman: The Complete Collection on Jan. 13, 2024

This series is fabulous. It's full of snarky interactions, explosions, car chases, etc. Both August and Ricardo are badass anti-heroes and this is the kind of story that would make an excellent action movie. I devoured all 5 books in less than a week and I highly recommend this series.
