I am a married mother of 2 originally from Newfoundland, now living in northern Alberta (a total stereotype I know). I am a pet groomer by trade and run my own successful salon. I also love volunteering and sit on 2 volunteer boards currently.
Besides reading my hobbies would be needle crafts and roller derby.
I Really enjoy reading and always have and have been threatening to start writing for a few years. I have a few ideas in my head, can't wait to start working on them.
My favorite genres would have to be fantasy, mystery and just about anything set in world war 2 era. Favorite authors would have to be Anne Rice and Ursula Hegi.

  This book just didn't do it for me. It seemed to have pretty good reviews and I loved the concept so I thought it would be a good read, but it really came down to the writing on this one. The plot was really jumpy and hard to follow and the author made assumptions that the reader understood concepts that were never properly explained or developed in the book. I felt like the entire time I was reading this I was missing key information which would help me understand the plot better, like this was really a series and I'd picked up the 2nd book or something, but my understanding is it is a stand alone book. Overall, when this was done I just felt unfulfilled, the general concept had a lot of potential and I would've gladly read this book if it was twice as long if it helped the author bring some descriptive narrative to a few more areas. It really just felt like I was reading an unfinished work or a rough draft.
