  • Raven's Gift on Jan. 09, 2011

Within the first few pages of Raven's Gift I was struck by the earthiness of the descriptions. Here was a fantasy character and world that conveyed the reality and experience of being poor in the middle ages. Raven is a fascinating character and I was just as intrigued by her personal story and secrets as I was by her adventures. The characters have full personas and depth. The author has avoided many of the pitfall that plague modern fantasy novels to give us an enjoyable read. The story is both interesting as it unfolds and yet we are compelled to turn the page, in the hope of finding a partial answer follow by the revelation that even more depth is waiting to be discovered. Full Disclosure: I am acquainted with the author and this is my review from the US Amazon website.
