Scott Sakatch

Biography

Scott Sakatch was a journalist for many years before deciding that he'd rather write about the fun stuff going on in his brain than the boring stuff going on at committee meetings. He quit the trade and promptly spent several more years as a businessman and college instructor, steadfastly avoiding fiction writing. Finally, after noticing an alarming amount of grey in his beard, he sat down and wrote False Witness, a story he'd conceived years earlier while a reporter. He also wrote Dust To Dust, a science fiction short story, which was published in On Spec: The Canadian Magazine of Speculative Fiction. They even paid him money for it, if you can believe that.

He is currently working on three new stories, including Portraits Of The Queen, the sequel to False Witness. He particularly likes to write stories that blur the lines between the good guys and the bad guys, because life isn't as simple as we'd like to think. Or maybe it is, and he just doesn't get it.

Scott lives with his wife in Red Deer, Alberta (halfway between the Flames and the Oilers). They have two grown children and are the masters/slaves of The World's Cutest Dog (No, Seriously).
