This page-turning read cleverly interweaves historical fact (the New Zealand Land Wars) into a modern-day tale of a teenager facing the typical problems of adolescence, as well as the disability he is left with after a horrific car crash. A sensitively written novel that combines fast-paced action with a strong moral theme. Recommended reading for young adults, particularly boys.
