Susan Edwards

Publisher info

Native American/Western romance writer Susan Edwards is the author of fourteen Historical Native American/Western/Paranormal romance stories, including the popular White Series now retitled the Legacy of Dreams. She also writes erotic romance under the pen name Sydney St. Claire. Writing as Susan, she was nominated for the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Western Historical and the Reviewers' Choice Best Book Award.

Susan resides in California with her husband of forty years, two adorable dogs, and a houseful of cats, including two rescue kittens who stole her heart (okay, not kittens anymore but still her babies). When not writing, she enjoys her saltwater fish tanks. She enjoys watching the fish and corals in her slice of the ocean, well slices as one tank has grown to four. She also enjoys crafts of all sorts including quilting, sewing, cross-stitch, and knitting. She also teaches knitting and crocheting at her local craft store.
She and her husband share outdoor pursuits and she is, of course, an avid reader. Susan also dislikes cooking and housework and boasts an eclectic range of musical interests. Check out her website, www.susanedwards.com, for current news.

Writing erotica romances as Sydney St. Claire, Susan takes her readers into the sensual world of erotica where her characters come together in explosive passion as they solve life’s problems and find true love along with the best sex our hero and heroine have ever experienced.

Her popular, Once Upon A Dom series, is a whole new take on fairy tales and her newest series, The Doms of Cupid's Cove, is set in a small, Californian coastal town.

Susan loves writing and sharing stories of love, hope, happiness and dreams coming true with her readers. She credits her mother for her writing success. Encouraged to read as a child, she always preferred happy endings which meant romances were her favorite genre.

Smashwords Interview

What is your e-reading device of choice?
I prefer to read on my Ipad as I can choose from many apps. Nook is my default for most fiction and non-fiction but recently, I've tried out the Kindle app with a research book. I love reading on my Ipad, and have a lot of files in dropbox, like my knitting and crochet patterns. It's super handy to be able to open and search and then use patterns I find.
Describe your desk/office
Oh, I love my desk! What of my desk that I'm allowed to use that is! I have an exec. style desk that holds my monitor and keyboard and mouse. Of course, there are the usual notepads and pens, a set of speakers as I listen to music while writing and a pretty lamp. I also have some stones that I like to hold and fiddle with.

This sounds like there is a ton of room left on my desk, right? Um, no. Did I mention that I have 2 cat beds on either side of my monitor? And if a third cat is insistant that they need to be with me, I have to add a third narrow bed between keyboard and monitor. I've been accused of spoiling my cats. What do you think?

My laptop sits on a shelf beside my desk. I have a matching corner desk behind me with two units with hutches on either side of the corner desk for all the normal 'writer's mess' and files etc. I share my office with my husband. It's actually the family room which is painted 4 shades of blue, decorated Native American and bird and animal prints. And there's lots of room for bookcases and a fireplace for winter writing as it is very cold in the winter.

My 2 pups sleep at my feet under the desk and there are cats blankets and beds on top of the hutches and corner desk for the cats. I really love my part of the office.
